Los Angeles: On Sunday, August 5, 2012, at
around 8:55 p.m., a severe injury hit and run, traffic collision
occurred at the intersection of Central Avenue and 32nd Street in the
Newton Area.
The victim a 32 year-old resident of Huntington
Park was riding his bicycle eastbound on 32nd Street and made a right
turn on Central Avenue. As he was in the process of completing the
turn, he rode directly into the path of an oncoming truck traveling
southbound on Central Avenue. The driver in the truck fled the scene
without identifying himself or rendering aid to the victim as mandated
by law.
According to witnesses, the hit and run vehicle was
described as a 1992-1998 Chevy Silverado, red flatbed truck, with
painted white panels. The driver was described as a male, Hispanic.
The victim suffered severe head trauma and was transported to a local hospital where is listed in critical condition.
