There have been four separate cases that have occurred since October 2012. Two of those cases involved the same victim. In each case, the suspect, who remained seated inside his vehicle, pulled alongside the victim while they were walking by themselves and offered them a ride. Each time, the victims refused to go with the suspect and fled to a safe area. In each incident, the suspect has only engaged in verbal contact with the victims. It is unknown if there is one or more than one suspect involved. Two composites have been completed. The suspect(s) description is as follows: a 30- to 45-year-old Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall. The first composite sketch depicts the suspect wearing a dark baseball cap with short dark hair and a light mustache with a possible goatee. The second composite depicts the suspect as bald, wearing small earrings and a chain around his neck. The suspect has been seen driving a light-colored, 2007 to 2011 four-door Honda Accord with possible paper  plates. Suspects Attempt to Lure Young Girls into Cars
Resident Awakens and Finds Female Suspect Stealing Property from Her Apartment
Los Angeles: On May 8, 2013, at 9:30 a.m., a female suspect entered an apartment through an unlocked door in the 5800 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood. The resident of the apartment was sleeping at the time the suspect was stealing property from her apartment. When the tenant woke up, she confronted the suspect who starting fighting with her. Due to the physical altercation, the burglary then escalated to a robbery.The female suspect left the apartment with numerous stolen items including multiple credit cards. Later that day the suspect used the victim’s credit cards at numerous locations in the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  North Hollywood Division Robbery Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the female suspect. She is described as a female, Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. She stands 5’05” tall and weighs 130 pounds. OIS in Rampart
Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Rampart officers were involved in an OIS when a man pointed a gun at them.
On 03/16/13, around 1:52 a.m., LAPD Rampart Area officers received a radio call of a robbery in progress at a local restaurant at the corner of Albany Street and Pico Boulevard. The caller indicated that the suspect was demanding money at gun point.
Upon arrival, officers saw a suspect matching the description given on the call exit the business with a gun in his hand. The suspect pointed the gun at the officers and an OIS occurred. Multiple officers were involved in the shooting.
The suspect went down and was taken into custody without further incident. A weapon was recovered at scene. The suspect was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
No officers were injured during the incident.
Los Angeles Police Department Force Investigation Division (FID) responded to the incident and will be handling the investigation of the officer-involved shooting.
The investigation will ultimately be reviewed by the Chief of Police, Office of the Inspector General and The Board of Police Commissioners for compliance with the Department’s use-of-force policy which states that an officer’s use-of-force actions must be objectively reasonable. Additionally, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Justice System Integrity Division will conduct a comprehensive review of the facts of the officer-involved shooting.

Man Fatally Shot in Panorama City
Los Angeles:
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD Mission Homicide Detectives are
investigating the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man who was
apparently walking on Parthenia Street, east of Cedros Avenue on March
16, 2013.
“Several neighbors called 9-1-1 reporting gunfire in the area,” said Capt. Todd Chamberlain, commanding officer of LAPD Mission Area Police Station. “But we have yet to know if the suspects were on foot or in a car, or why this shooting happened.”
The gunfire was reported at 10:35 p.m. and police arrived quickly to find the man bleeding badly. He later died on the way to the hospital with paramedics.
Officers canvassed the area, interviewing people in the nearby tattoo parlor, taco shop, and the large apartment complex across the street.
Detectives have not determined the motive for the shooting. The victim was a Hispanic man who lived nearby, and he had no documented gang affiliation.
“We’re asking the public’s help in solving this murder,” Capt. Chamberlain added. “Detectives suspect the 9-1-1 callers might have seen more than they reported, and would like them to come forward with any information.”
The victim’s name will be released once his family has been notified.
This is the first homicide in Panorama City this year.

24-Year-Old Man Shot at in His Vehicle

detectives need the public’s help in providing any information that
would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of
John Anthony Neves.
On Sunday, March 17, 2013, around 8:23 p.m., Hollenbeck Area Patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 400 block of South Avenue 19. When the officers arrived at the location, they were directed to Neves, who was lying on the ground to the rear of his residence.
Detective’s investigation revealed that Neves was sitting inside his vehicle when an armed suspect(s) approached on foot and fired multiple shots at Neves. Neves, was struck by the gunfire as he fled from his vehicle. The suspect(s) fled the location.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Neves dead. The incident is believed to be gang related.
